What is the Army Family Action Plan?
Have you ever thought, "If the Army would just ask me how to fix this I could tell them?!"
The AFAP Program gives you the chance to do just that!
The Army Family Action Plan (AFAP) is one of the Army's principle programs put in place to ensure that standards of living in the Army keep pace with changing times. AFAP gives Soldiers (Active Duty, National Guard and Reserve), Retirees, DA civilians, and their Families the opportunity to let Army leadership know what is working and what isn’t and their ideas about what will fix it.
Is my issue an AFAP issue?
Check your issue against the AFAP Issue Checklist. Does your issue:

Where does my issue go?
First, the issue is sent to the agency that can provide feedback on solving the issue. It is then included in the yearly Fort Hamilton AFAP Conference.
Conference delegates will discuss and prioritize issues, which are
then submitted to the Commanding General for resolution.
If the issue cannot be resolved at Fort Hamilton it is sent to the next level until completion or issue is determined to be unattainable.
For any questions, contact the Fort Hamilton AFAP Program Manager at 718-630-4498.
What are some AFAP Issue examples?
In the history of AFAP, 101 changes have been made to legislation, 147 policies or regulations have been revised, and 165 programs and services have been improved at the Department of the Army level.
How do I become an AFAP Volunteer?
Are you someone that desires to make a difference? Are you ready to be a part of improving the lives of Soldiers, Retirees, DA Civilians and Family Members? If so, you are a good delegate candidate.
If you want to be more involved you can volunteer to be one of the AFAP Conference Staff by becoming a Facilitator, Recorder/Transcriber or an Issue Support person.
If you are interested in any of those roles please contact the AFAP Program Manager at 718-630-4498.
